Leaving The Centennial Bridge behind
Arriving to Pedro Miguel with the new access to the big locks on the right
We turned left to the Pedro Miguel Locks
Follow the arrow to the correct lock
Sailing very slowly into the lock
Getting ready to man the mules
A ship follows us under the bridge
Local Panamanian workers were friendly
These fellows attached the mule lines
A dam in the distance – no overflow today
The 2 million dollar locomotives
The bullseye is for line-throwing practice and competitions
This ship followed behind us all day
View of the wall from our window
This white structure worked as a plug on the lock
The dam was not operating – water levels were low
This plugged the water in the lock
Opposite lock was closed for repairs
Workers were down at the bottom of the gates
Fixing the old gates (recessed in the wall)
Never seen this process before
Getting ready to drop lower to Miraflores Lake
Visitor's building at Miraflores
The water in the lock goes down
Water level drops rather quickly by gravity
The skies looked like rain….never happened
New buildings at the canal expansion
A female frigate (white throat)
This may be the webcam at Miraflores
Here comes the Lavender vessel
Birds fishing in the canal waters
New locks with recycle holding ponds
The new gates will work differently
They will slide back and forth sideways
