Report #94 Piraeus, Greece April 3, 2017 Monday Mostly sunny & 68 degrees Part #2 Of 3 87 Pictures

Our hike continued……

Sold by the kilo

Streets closed to traffic

Spring artichokes looked good

A store that sold fresh eggs

Kitchen tools, etc.

Many local shoppers

You can purchase anything here….like an outdoor Walmart

Pretty, but silk

Now these are the real deal

Exotic flowers

Hydrangeas

We seemed to be the only tourists there

Fun outdoor market

Now we are now recognizing the streets

Which way to go?

Something doesn't look right

A landmark we did remember

St. Paul's Catholic Church

Flowering orange trees

Small side streets

Small parks

Bizarre painting

Oh please, take me with you…..

A landmark church we could not find on the map

We turned this way

And sort of got lost

Could not locate any of the street names on the map

Not looking familiar

Maybe the harbor is over the hill

Or down the hill

Small chapel by the church has some significance

A beautiful interior

Street work in progress

Potted plants would look nice in our room

Miele, an appliance store

Flowering shrub

The entrance to the street mall

The stone clock at the Port of Zea

Apartments facing the harbor

Pretty as a postcard

Healthy oranges on street trees

This building marks the street we need to take back

Harbor front road

Pinwheels on the balcony

Trees do well in this climate

We can never grow these where we live

Good crop, but no one eats them

Local store

Many apartments

Boats in the harbor

Some very nice vessels

Zeas Port

Fish in the water

Many of them

Some boats were larger than others

Heading towards the marina

The yachts are getting bigger

Naval Museum high on the cliff

Port authority

Now this ship is cool

Now we are entering the nice yacht area

Some very nice boats

A smaller boat inside the yacht

Every boat was elegant

Perhaps they are rented for parties

Sleek

Another cool one

The marina kept going on

But we needed to get back

We turned around at this park

Taverns, bars, and cafes on the marina

Most of these vessels were being polished and cleaned

Lots of street traffic for a Monday

Lots of fish

Tree-lined marina

Heading back to the port area of Zea

We had a long walk along the harbor front

Map of the Zeas Marina and Port

The boats got smaller

And much older

Fishing vessels

Still afloat

Probably go out in the early morning

Elderly man working on his boat

The sun coming out made the water prettier
