Young bird waits for the parents

Here they come

Can see their bone structure

Red, white, and blue

Going to land

Sharp contrast

These trees are sometimes called Christmas trees

Big eyes for night hunting

Landing

On a perfect branch

Looking for the baby

It was here a while ago

Small size bird

But many of them here

May not see this breed again

Like the tropicbird

Can’t see it now

Hovering

The ship will be leaving after 6pm

Tender landing below the new carving

A pair in flight

Hunt together

Then feed the one baby

Yellow flowering tree

She was oblivious to the oily sand

Racing to catch the tender boat

Our security guards at the pier

Going home – gosh it was hot in this boat

Looks like it is from outer space to us

Some folks live on their boats

Silently waiting

The aft of the ship

Tenders were on the less turbulent side

Ready to unload

There are two lady guards now

Sailaway From Nuku Hiva

The black blob is a manta ray

Telltale fin

Looked like a plastic bag floating at first

Until we saw the “wings”

A small splash of the water gave them away

Another wing

Two wings exposed

Skimming the surface

Sun will be setting soon

Dry hillsides light up

Quite scenic

The town will be dark soon

Sail away at the Seaview Pool

Spire-like peaks

Volcanic in nature

Flags blowing in the breeze

A stunning sunset tonight

Going behind the clouds

Dramatic

Leaving the Marquesas once again
